Winter in A City wasn't particularly cold, but it wasn't warm either.
Pedestrians fluttered up and down the streets, seemingly all in a hurry to return home.
Shen Mo walked back from the bustling Commercial Street, a tiny lunchbox in his hand.
It seemed that he would be alone at home again tonight.
A familiar alley; a pitch-black house.
He opened the door, leaving the cold outside.
But the house was empty and although he was no longer cold, he still felt uncomfortable.
After washing his lunchbox, just as he was preparing to finish his homework for the day, the boy suddenly heard a knock at the door.
He opened the door. The girl outside raised her eyebrows and looked at him, "Back already?"
It was his neighbour An Yeran.
Shen Mo stepped aside to let her in.
"Are you alone?" the girl asked.
"Yeah, my dad's on duty tonight." Shen Mo said, pulling out a box of chocolate bars for her.
