Chapter 17 - [016] Do you have anything to eat? _1

The girl stood stiffly.

She didn't expect Lu Xiu to step forward!

The glow in the boy's eyes wasn't fake- it was something she hadn't seen from him before.

Her impression of Lu Xiu was always indifferent, whether towards classmates or teachers.

With a quick glance, An Yeran could see Cinderella run towards her like a small meatball, a beautiful gleam of joy on his fine face.

"Sister!" Lu Xiu ran to An Yeran, a hint of red forming on his fair cheeks, "You came to see me, right?"

Eldest Sister was the first to come to him actively.

That made Little Lu Xiu feel quite happy.

An Yeran went straight to the point, "Do you have something to eat?"

Feeling too sleepy in the morning, she only ate a little bit. The small portion was soon digested after being punished to stand for a period.

Lu Xiu nodded, "Yes, let me get it for you, Sister."

The boy ran back like the wind.

An Yeran rubs her tummy- it was grumbling with hunger.

The girls who had previously been eagerly awaiting the drama were taken aback. They didn't anticipate for Lu Xiu to step forward, much less with such enthusiasm?!

Envy filled their hearts, along with a few hints of hostility towards the girl at the classroom door.

Lu Xiu soon reappeared, a piece of cake in hand. An Yeran glanced at it, "Strawberries again?"

Lu Xiu blushed, "Yes, yes!"

An Yeran took a bite with the box still on, "Thanks, Little Brother. By the way, have you finished my homework?"

Little Lu Xiu seemed somewhat nervous, "I was in a hurry while writing last night, my handwriting might not be good. I'm sorry, Sister."

An Yeran: "..."

What an angel!!

"No, no, no," she reached up to pinch Lu Xiu's little face. The sensation was as delicate as silk, "Your handwriting is great, thanks."

Who wouldn't like such a sweet, obedient, and adorable brother?

Although she disliked children, she didn't dislike Lu Xiu.

Armed with a cake, An Yeran returned to her class. The next class was English, another sleeping class.

Watching his sister leave, a tinge of sadness passed through Lu Xiu's coffee-brown eyes. In truth, he wanted to talk to her a bit more.

Nevertheless, he cheerfully perked up soon after.

He felt his sister was starting to like him. It seemed that helping her with her homework and bringing her food was indeed the right tactic.

Little Lu Xiu decided that he had to treat his sister better in the future, so she would like him more.

Since the homework issue was resolved, An Yeran's serene days were back. Sometimes she was still punished to stand, but it did not affect her mood.

Jiang Anxue would ignore her and Lu Xiu at school, only taking the center stage in front of Lu De when she returned home, showing off her knowledge. An Yeran wasn't interested in her drama, so would ignore her, eat dinner, and then head to her room to rest.

It seemed that Little Lu Xiu had developed a habit of bringing his homework to An Yeran's room every night to write, always bringing small cakes and milk along.

An Yeran liked to curl up on her bed and play games while Lu Xiu sat next to her desk, completed all her homework, and helped translate all English readings and exercises.

After nearly arguing with Jiang's mother, An Yeran hadn't spoken to her for a week. Whenever they made eye contact, the woman's disdain was obvious. However, An Yeran didn't care, taking Lu Xiu and retreating to her room, sometimes not even eating dinner as the situation created a bad taste in her mouth.

Time went by swiftly with half a month passing in a blink. The attached elementary school of the First Middle School held a small activity- every half month, a teacher would take their class to a summer camp in the suburbs.

This time, it was Class Three. Upon learning about it, Lu De instructed his secretary to prepare everything An Yeran would need for the camp.

An Yeran felt that Lu De was indeed a good man. No wonder Lu Xiu's mother fell for him. Unfortunately, he seemed to have lost his sight later and chose Jiang Li.

Jiang Anxue was quite happy- she wouldn't have to see her annoying sister at home.

But something seemed off with Lu Xiu.

Ever since he found out about Class Three's trip, he had been in a deep sulk for several days. His gloomy demeanor was inexplicable and a bit eerie.

An Yeran didn't overthink it. She figured the kid might also want to go to the summer camp but couldn't, that's why he was sulking.
