As the door swung open, Yu Jingrong was slightly startled at the sight of Huo Shufen. "Mom, what brings you here?"
Rushed and weary from her journey, Yu Jingrong had not informed Huo Shufen about her injury. Knowing of Huo Shufen's frail health, Jingrong feared that her own troubles might worry her mother and worsen her condition.
Huo Shufen had only learned of the incident the night before, accidentally overhearing Xin Xiaozhen spilling the beans while talking to Yu Chenxi. Shocked by the revelation, Huo Shufen immediately questioned Xin Xiaozhen. Realizing it was no use hiding it anymore, and considering that Jingrong should be fairly recovered by then, Xiaozhen disclosed everything to Huo Shufen.
Upon learning about the life-threatening ordeal that Jingrong had faced, Huo Shufen was terrified and decided at once to rush over to see what had happened to her daughter. But since it was already late at night, Xiaozhen and Chenxi stopped her, insisting that Jingrong needed her rest.
