Yu Jingrong received an invitation from the Q City Jade Carving Association. This year, the national Jade Carving Expo is being held, and the Q City Jade Carving Association has invited Yu Jingrong to contribute a jade carving exhibit on their behalf.
In past years, those invited were individuals who had reached the level of master craftsmen, and it wasn't just a question of having the technical skill; it also required the accumulation of time and experience, as well as strong social connections.
Her father, with his extraordinary technical and experiential prowess, had never received an invitation, mainly because he was somewhat lacking in social skills; he didn't have the ability to talk differently according to people's status, putting people at ease. This lack of a smooth approach, and his dedication solely to crafting jade works, meant that even though he was known as Ghost Hand for his superb jade carving skills, he had never been invited.
