Xin Xiaozhen envied Yu Jingrong's calmness, but her deep sense of helplessness seemed to also find a glimmer of hope.
Yu Jingrong gave a small nod, her lips twitching into a slight smile. "Alright, I'll accompany you."
Xin Xiaozhen laughed, taking Jingrong's arm. "Thank you. With you by my side, I don't feel as scared. I feel courageous."
They got into a cab and headed to the hotel where Xin Xiaozhen's father, Xin Long, was staying. Throughout the journey, Xiaozhen was in a state of tension, sitting very calmly. She didn't even touch her fingers, her body stiff with anxiety.
As they got out of the car and started walking, their arms and legs coordinated in sync.
At the entrance, as Jingrong reached out to press the doorbell, Xin Xiaozhen suddenly grabbed her hand tightly.
Jingrong looked at her, somewhat speechless, and chuckled, "What are you afraid of?"
"You don't know my father... Never mind, it's hard to explain," Xiaozhen said, irritated, then shrugged her shoulders.
