It took a while before she suddenly screamed as if her throat were being squeezed, "Marry her? Marry the woman who nearly killed you?!" She roared angrily, "I forbid it! I absolutely will not allow it!!"
In stark contrast to her fury, Samuel was the picture of calm. He gestured dismissively, saying casually, "If you don't allow it, then you don't. After all, you're not the one marrying her. If you're unhappy, then Amanda and I can just move out and live on our own."
Mrs. Johnson was so enraged by his words that she almost fainted. She grabbed Samuel's collar, trembling, and asked, "Samuel... I'm asking you, who is more important to you in the end, me or her?"
