She didn't stay in Evan Willow's villa anymore; instead, she rented an apartment in a small community next to the company. It was just a ten-minute walk from the office. Although Evan wasn't happy about her finding a place outside, Amanda explained that his apartment was simply too far from the city center. Reluctantly, he dropped the matter, but occasionally he would have the old housekeeper stew some nourishing soup for Amanda.
That day, Amanda received an invitation to a banquet from the chief editor. At half past eight that evening, Mr. Morgan would be attending, and they hoped Amanda could sneak in to secure an exclusive report.
Amanda initially wanted to decline. Even with an invitation, as a magazine reporter, sneaking into that type of banquet would look bad if people found out, especially with the added risk of getting caught by security while taking covert photos and possibly being thrown out.
