Amanda Smith had witnessed Samuel Johnson's sarcastic tongue when he criticized others, and since she had often been the object of his ridicule in the past, she knew just how sharp his mouth could be. She reached out, pulled him back, and looked up with a slight smile at the young woman in front of her.
The woman, seeing her smile, became even more aggressive. She glanced at Amanda Smith and asked, "Don't you think you're completely mismatched with him? You look so ordinary; do you think you're worthy of him?"
This woman was truly bizarre.
But the women attracted by Samuel Johnson were all pretty bizarre themselves.
Amanda Smith wasn't angry; instead, she turned her head to look at Samuel Johnson, who was fuming behind her, and asked, "Do you like me?"
Samuel Johnson was startled and hastily nodded.
