Music was flowing, and in the private room, other than the music, no other sound was heard, yet Samuel Johnson didn't feel lonely at all. He realized that being with someone you liked, even without uttering a single word, the silence would not feel oppressive.
After about ten minutes, Tim Morrison arrived, looking travelworn; he seemed thinner than the last time, exuding a brisk sharpness, like a treasured sword unsheathed and radiating a faint but menacing edge.
Now that he was entrenched within the Morrison Family, it was no longer a time to conceal his capabilities.
As soon as Tim arrived, he greeted Samuel Johnson and Amanda Smith, then downed a drink in one go and hurried over to the sound system to select "Single Love Song," before bursting into song.
[The me who can't hold onto love
Always watching it slip away before my eyes
People who are happy are found everywhere in the world
Why can't I be one of them
Fighting alone for love
