"Grandpa..."
Amanda Smith pressed the old man's hand against her face, recalling the promise she had made. She truly felt sorry that she couldn't fulfill it.
Even if she was reluctant to leave Mr. Johnson, she wouldn't stay any longer.
She lowered her head in guilt and buried her face in his chest, whispering, "I'm sorry, Grandpa."
"What are you apologizing to Grandpa for?" Mr. Johnson stroked Amanda's long hair, sighing lightly, "It should be Grandpa apologizing to you... to let such a thing happen to Amanda, if anything had happened to you, Grandpa really would be... beyond redemption."
"Grandpa has also heard about Samuel's incident." Mr. Johnson sighed again, "That boy sure ran away fast... Ah, Amanda, would you blame Grandpa for being too powerless?"
