Samuel Johnson furrowed his brows, feeling somewhat uncomfortable at those words.
His annoyance grew, and in one breath, he sent everyone out, shutting the door and leaving his mother and the servants outside.
Mrs. Johnson called out a few "Hey!"s from outside the door, but seeing that her son truly wasn't going to open the door for them, she could only helplessly sigh and leave.
Once everyone had left, the hospital room finally became completely quiet. Samuel turned to look at the steaming meals on the counter and said to Amanda Smith, who was sitting on the hospital bed, "You haven't eaten either. Although the food isn't tasty, you should make do and eat a bit."
He rarely spoke in such a soft and gentle manner, but Amanda didn't buy it at all. She glanced at him, turned her back, pulled up the covers, and lay down on the bed again.
