Throughout the entire afternoon, Samuel Johnson was restless at the company. He scrutinized the tie he had snatched from Amanda Smith, but couldn't figure out which male friend she intended to gift it to for his birthday.
A boyfriend?
What a joke!
The woman had liked him for so many years, and he didn't believe for a second that she could move on to someone else that quickly.
As he leaned back in his black leather office chair and stared at the black tie, he became furious with embarrassment when he thought about how he had confessed his feelings and completely misunderstood her the night before.
It wasn't even Amanda's fault, she had explicitly told him last night that it wasn't for him, yet he refused to believe it!
It was... utterly embarrassing!
Thinking of this, Samuel wished he could travel back in time and strangle his shameless self from the day before.
