Amanda Smith bowed her head and carefully wrapped a small package in colorful wrapping paper, then tied it with a red ribbon into a butterfly knot. Once everything was ready, she joyfully picked it up, intending to stash it in a drawer.
Just as she pulled open the drawer, a hand reached over her shoulder and snatched the package from her grasp.
"!!"
Amanda was startled and turned around to see a man standing behind her, inspecting the just-wrapped gift.
She glanced at the front door, thinking with annoyance that from now on, she had to lock the door when entering the house!
The gift box was only so big, and Samuel Johnson looked at it curiously. Amanda reached out to snatch it back, "Give it back to me!"
Samuel stepped back and curved his lips at Amanda with a smug tone, "Why should I give it back to you? Isn't this for me? There's no need for all this trouble, I'll just accept it now!"
He said this with an air of utter conviction.
