"I've already asked for sick leave on your behalf," Evan Willow supported Amanda Smith back to her room, adding, "I've got your phone and briefcase. I'll let you check them after dinner to see if anything's missing."
His tone was gentle, but his actions were assertive. Amanda, propped up by him, helplessly returned to the bedside and watched Evan place breakfast on the coffee table.
After eating breakfast, Amanda softly said to Evan, "I probably can't go home for the next few days and will have to impose on you."
Appearing in front of the Johnson family in this injured state surely wouldn't be good.
If Mr. Johnson heard about it and investigated, the incident involving Samuel Johnson last time would be exposed.
Then... the question wouldn't be whether Samuel Johnson was beaten or not...
Considering this, Amanda silently sighed.
Hearing her, Evan chuckled lightly, "You can stay here as long as you want; why say such things?"
