"Samuel…" she faintly lifted her head, the smile on her small, cold-sweat-drenched face appearing pale and fragile. In a soft voice, she asked, "Could you give me what's in your hand?"
Samuel Johnson clicked his tongue lightly, tossing the plastic bottle onto the bed with a wave of his hand. He watched coldly as Amanda Smith opened the lid, poured out a pill, and swallowed it whole. She struggled a bit, covering her mouth as she coughed softly a few times, her slender shoulder blades looking particularly thin under the light.
For some reason, he felt slightly uncomfortable in his heart, seeing her taking medication all alone over there, he actually had the urge to step forward and offer comfort.
Suppressing that strange feeling, he turned and walked towards the door.
As he closed the door, he saw Amanda Smith climb out of bed to get water. So, while he was there, she even dared not get up to pour water herself…
