"Amelia..." He wanted to say something else.
"Number 78, Amelia Clarke, please go to Ultrasound Room 2; Number 78, Amelia Clarke, please go to Ultrasound Room 2..." The speaker announced Amelia Clarke.
Amelia Clarke gulped down the remaining water in her cup, tossed the cup into the trash, and walked into Ultrasound Room 2. She closed the door behind her and, on a whim, locked it.
The room was spacious and very warm.
Having been through this before, Amelia didn't need the doctor to say much. She lay down on the bed, lifted her shirt, and pulled down her waistband.
The doctor glanced at her chart and squeezed some coupling agent onto her stomach.
The touch was cold, making Amelia shiver slightly.
The probe slid forcefully over her lower abdomen, causing some discomfort.
The doctor's face was expressionless, but after a while, a look of surprise crossed her features.
