Taking the bowl handed to her by Dorothy Brown, she ate spoonful by spoonful.
Somehow, the food was tasteless.
She suppressed the feeling of nausea in her stomach and swallowed each mouthful.
After finishing the bowl of porridge, Amelia Clarke felt considerably better.
She thought it was time to be discharged from the hospital.
When she shared this thought with Dorothy Brown, she did not quite agree, "You've just gotten a bit better, why are you in such a rush to leave the hospital?"
Amelia Clarke: "I have some matters to attend to," she paused, then added, "Very important matters."
"Well, alright then." Since she had important matters to tend to, Dorothy Brown didn't feel it was her place to stop her. She took a dry cleaner's bag out of the cabinet and handed it to Amelia Clarke, saying, "I've already sent your clothes out to be cleaned for you."
Amelia Clarke took it and said gratefully, "Thank you."
