Half an hour later, Amelia Clarke saw Mason Carter.
Perhaps terrified, Mason Carter, when brought out, trembled like a frightened bird, his thin body shivering uncontrollably. He kept his head low, neck tucked in, and back hunched, exuding a sense of misery.
Amelia's eyes swelled with tears, "Mason..."
Upon hearing her voice, Mason's body shook. He looked up blankly, his face streaked with tears and snot.
Seeing it was his sister, he lunged towards the protective bars. The police officer holding him immediately pushed him down onto the chair with considerable force, rebuking sternly, "Don't move!"
Mason grimaced in pain.
Amelia quickly coaxed him, "Be good, Mason. Sit still and don't move, or your sister will leave!"
Mason hurriedly sat properly, nodding repeatedly, his voice thick with tears as he said naively, "I won't move! Mason won't move! Sister, don't go away..."
