"Thank you," Amelia Clarke said, her face blushing slightly. Looking at the dishes on the table, all of them were very light, hardly oily, and there was even a plate of refreshing cold dishes, clearly prepared especially for her.
She glanced at the man beside her who seemed unperturbed and wondered when he had called Dorothy Brown to tell her about the pregnancy.
"Sir, madam, please wash your hands and come eat," Dorothy Brown said with a smile, again.
Her address for Amelia Clarke had suddenly changed from 'Miss Carter' to 'madam.' Amelia noticed, and although she didn't know if it was Owen Moreland's intention or Dorothy Brown's doing, she still felt very comfortable.
In the past, other people had called her 'Mrs. Moreland,' but it had never sounded as pleasing as it did today.
Halfway through the meal, the doorbell rang.
Amelia Clarke thought about getting up to open the door, but Dorothy Brown hurried out from the kitchen. "Madam, don't move, I'll get the door."
