Serene Abel was still holding her high heels when she suddenly felt at a loss.
She turned to look at herself in the mirror, her cheeks swollen, the whites of her eyes filled with blood vessels, her hair unkempt, unkown when it had become so disheveled. Holding her high heels, she looked no different from a common shrew.
How could she let Granny Moreland see her like this?
She had always maintained the image of a dignified and virtuous lady in front of Granny Moreland…
The footsteps from outside were getting closer.
Serene quickly put on the high heels, straightened her disheveled hair, adjusted her gown, and caught a glimpse of Amelia Clarke's actions, causing her to freeze.
Amelia Clarke raised her hand and pinched her cheeks hard, turning them red. She tore at her hair, then grabbed the hem of her organza gown and ripped it before turning and charging at Serene.
