Owen Moreland took advantage of the situation to hold her hand. Instead of answering her question, he asked, "Were you worried last night?"
His voice was low and husky, carrying an unusual charm.
Amelia Clarke thought back to last night. She had constantly called his phone, anxious and worried, only to have Serene Abel pick up, who had deliberately said some misleading things, nearly causing her to misunderstand Owen Moreland.
She pursed her lips and spoke in a half-serious, half-joking tone, "Of course, I was worried. Last night, I waited for you outside the school gate for several hours and even got soaked in the rain. I kept calling you, but your phone was turned off. When I finally got through, it was Miss Abel who answered. Perhaps she was afraid that I'd worry, she didn't even tell me you were in a car accident, almost causing me to misunderstand you guys."
