Owen Moreland fixed his deep gaze on Amelia Clarke's face for a moment before sitting down.
Amelia sat down opposite him and said to the old man, "Two bowls of sweet dumplings, please."
The old man's voice was exceptionally loud, "Alrighty!"
Amelia was amused by his voice for a moment, then suddenly noticed some water stains on the table in front of Owen. She naturally took a piece of tissue and wiped it for him.
Owen's eyes became even deeper, fixed unblinkingly on Amelia.
His stare made Amelia feel uncomfortable all over.
She looked up, locking eyes with Owen, wanting to say something to break the weird atmosphere between them, and said, "Mr. Moreland, it's amazing that you were able to solve my family's trouble within a single day!"
It was indeed a sincere compliment.
Owen said, "You should have told me about your difficulties earlier."
Amelia lowered her eyelashes, her demeanor beautiful and serene.
