Tanya distributed her points into mana, strength, and dexterity, believing those would be the most useful for her at the moment. 'I really hope Dave and the others come back quickly,' she thought. 'It's clear of goblins right now, but who knows how long that'll last? I can't defend myself- much less help June.'
Just a minute later, she spotted them approaching, carrying various sticks and a bedsheet they had scavenged. Taking the materials from them, Tanya got to work. She borrowed a sword from the skeletons and cut the bedsheet in half, ensuring it was large enough for a body and the edges could wrap around the sticks with just the right tension. Inspecting the sticks, she found two broken broomsticks stained with blood and the handle of a vacuum, with a meter of clothing elastic wrapped around it.
After doing her best, Tanya fashioned a makeshift stretcher. "Help me put her on the stretcher," she said to Dave and the others. "We need to get to somewhere safe quickly." Carefully, they lifted June, with Tanya supporting her head and neck while the others held her legs and sides, making sure not to agitate her injuries. It took a lot longer than you'd expect it to as the skeletons were too weak to lift her body properly. With June secured they set off to find a secured room.
As they moved, Tanya sighed deeply while glancing at the unconscious June. Her leg hurt badly but she bore the pain as much as possible, taking little breaks every now and then. The blooded floors and walls, the silence accompanied by the occasional screeching of what is presumed to be a goblin- all motivated Tanya to move as fast as possible and to ignore the pain. The place was just too eerie.
Dave took the initiative to get rid of any stray goblin that popped out on them, swiftly defeating the goblin and coming back to carry his master onwards to safety. After minutes of walking and searching, they found an abandoned room that was left unlocked which Dave then swept the room to ensure it was safe. Unscrewing the Heal All jar, Tanya rubbed some ointment onto June's major bruises, allowing it to settle for a few minutes.
In those moments, she began to think. Since June had saved her, Tanya hadn't reflected on anything related to this new world. When the goblins first appeared, she had thought she was a goner, and after June's rescue, she had relied on her for protection. She ignored all the blood and carnage around her for her own mental being while being a little thankful that the hobgoblin ate the dead bodies since she didn't know how well she would've processed seeing them. Witnessing June's fight changed her perspective entirely though
With such dangerous creatures in the world, Tanya realized that depending on others for safety and support would only lead to her demise. Clearing her mind of those thoughts, she concentrated on her original intention—healing June. She envisioned pushing energy toward her friend, using June's method of raising skeletons as a guide. Slowly, she felt a flow of energy circulating within her, the path visualized in her mind.
Opening her eyes, Tanya watched as the energy exited her body, dissipating toward June. To her astonishment, the small wounds and cuts on June's body began to heal. A small gasp escaped her lips; she was shocked by what she had accomplished.
'I know I should be more surprised to see dead goblins turn into skeletons, but the fact that I did this is even more astonishing.'
Finally, she could be of use instead of merely relying on June. Even if she couldn't fight, she resolved to be her healer. After checking June's condition, she noted that her friend was doing much better than just moments ago—the Heal All ointment had worked wonders.
Ensuring the door was locked, Tanya made her way to the bed, squeezing in beside June, while Dave stood guard. Checking her status, she saw that her mana had decreased, realizing the energy she had used was indeed mana. Too tired to assess further, she held onto the last thought of healing herself in the morning before falling asleep.
