Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – New Beginnings

Dante wakes up to the smell of grass and dirt. Confused he said, "Uh my head, where am I?". Dante slowly composed himself, looking around he could only see trees everywhere. The trees were dense, and their branches shadowed everything leaving the surroundings dark and cold.

Dante noticed a small dirt path between some trees and decided to follow it. Walking along he noticed many strange carvings in the rocks nearby and that this trail had not been walked in a while.

After walking for around 10 minutes, he stumbles upon a massive altar with a large egg in the middle of what seems to be a fireplace. The altar had many symbols of what seemed to be dragons carved along it. Near the center of the altar near where the egg is, a pedestal with a book was there. As he walked towards the pedestal, the top of the altar lit on fire as the whole area slowly got warmer. A determined Dante continued to press forward as the heat intensified, he needed to find any clues as to how he got here and what this could all be. Finally reaching the pedestal he noticed that the book had a hand and dragon symbol and was very old judging from its looks. He tried to open the book but to no avail so he put his hand on the hand symbol to see if it would change anything. "Ow, the hell is this" shouted Dante as he pulled his hand back from the now burning book. As the fire faded the book opened on its own.

For the one reading this, you have been accepted as heir to this dragon egg and now you're in a draconic pact. If this egg is destroyed or if the dragon is ever killed, then you will also be killed as now there's a life link. You now have the potential to be one of the strongest beings alive. The egg has a very specific hatching condition and will die out in a week. You will need to have it sit in a pit of fire burning constantly for an entire day. Good luck, the new heir.

Dante finished reading the page and flipped to the next page but as he did the book caught fire but in a deeper and even hotter flame. Dante closed his eyes for a second and looked again only to find the book had completely burned away.

"Well shit, that's great but why me and I still don't have complete answers on this world. But I guess I must do what I got to do after what I saw here" Dante quietly said to himself. Dante picks up the egg grunting as he does.

"Why is this thing so damn heavy?"

He puts the egg down. "There's got to be a better way to move this, there's no way I'm hauling this everywhere I go," Dante thought to himself.

"I might as well stay here for the remaining week, but I need to survive first"

Dante remembered practicing outdoor skills with his father before he passed away. Dante was also really into science and so he began to get to work. He collects sticks and rocks and builds a small fire pit by the altar. Dante continues for the next 2 hours gathering resources, picking up any rocks and sticks he can. After he was done, he went to map out any areas of interest later as the seven-day deadline wasn't on his mind much. Dante finally begins to light the fire and just like that day one of seven is over.
