They walked into the house after all the greetings and laughter. Evelyn felt so much embarrassed because everyone there except Ryan just was not looking at her. Nobody really cared to ask for her name or anything. She was just behind - she placed herself behind intentionally because, at that spot, she believed that she had no right to interfere.
Tory wouldn't stop clinging to Ryan and Evelyn was glaring at Ryan's hand that was around Tory's waist as they walked in. Every two seconds, she had to inhale and exhale to release the tension that had built up in her. It was just too much. Ryan didn't seem to be complaining so why should she? After all, there was nothing between them. Evelyn looked away.
"Why didn't you tell us that you had arrived before?" Tory asked sweetly as she looked at Ryan with love in her eyes. If she had been drawn as a comic character, heart-shaped love would have replaced her normal eyes to express his delighted she was about his arrival.
