Chereads / My Secretive Mr Ryan. / Chapter 7 - YOU WHAT?!

Chapter 7 - YOU WHAT?!

A car drove into the worldwide jewelry-making building in a sort of ownership way. The car was one of the latest editions and was limited too. It was a white Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 that cost more than two million dollars. The ray of the sun pointed at the car making it more glamorous and pleasing to the eye. The workers never ceased to be amazed by the different cars their boss brought to the company, they were always bombarded.

The security man dressed in a black suit with a Bluetooth device in his ear opened the car's door for him. Ryan put out his right leg before coming out fully in a poised manner. His eyes were cold but his handsomeness didn't cease. The door of the company was opened for him and he walked in without any hindrance. The workers kept bowing as the President walked past them unbothered and followed by tons of bodyguards that were usually not that required.

The Company was a jewelry company headed by Ryan himself, it was known worldwide as Glittery A.

The company came up with different designs of pieces of jewelry either in gold or silver, whatever the beautiful resources could be, as long as it was meant for ornaments then Glittery A was the perfect place to bring it to.

They were the original designers of their work, he had hundreds of staff working under him and he made sure that their records were always up to date with the help of the IT team in the country.

Not everyone was given access to the building just like that. There was always a check-up at the main gate before entering and that was with your fingerprint, face scanner, and then your ID card. Only a few were permitted to enter without these requirements. That included the First lady of the company who was the President's sister, Mandarin who was known to many as Ryan's girlfriend or mistress or best friend, and then his friend, Ray. There were a few others too.

Ryan had always been known as a strict businessman who was always after the quality of his goods and profits. Nothing was known much about his affairs other than the fact that he was the president of an everblooming company. Some of his rivals reported him to the government which had to conduct a serious investigation into him and his source of wealth but nothing was found. He wasn't for once involved in any unclean job so he was let alone yet his competitors were still looking for his downfall.

No one knew if he was single or not, maybe he had a complete family or not. He was quite secretive and mysterious but he never cared as long as no one forced down written words that might ruin him. He was less concerned about their investigation because they wouldn't be getting any.

Ryan entered the elevator which took him to the Conference A room directly. He walked into the room and everybody stood up to welcome him until he sat down. His eyes ran across everyone who was in the room before picking a pen. There was silence in the room that even if a pin dropped at that moment then it would have been heard. He stared at the table for a while before hitting the pen's bottom on it, he relaxed on his swivel chair.

"Let the meeting commerce." He ordered and Ben came from behind him. He placed the documents in front of him alongside some pictures.

"Mr. Ryan, with all due respect, I am disappointed by your work this time around." A man started talking.

Ryan's eyes narrowed but he did not interrupt. This gave the man the clue to continue talking.

"The attire that required golden beads to be designed on it was a complete failure and disaster. You must have seen the pictures…yes, that was what it exactly looked like after confirming it. The First Lady's daughter of Country L was so disappointed and embarrassed after realizing that what was used as real gold on her attire was fake. Someone mistakenly spilled a drink on her and the middle of the gown down to her thighs melted like when the sun melts ice into water.

I was called upon and insulted. It was such a disgraceful thing for me to witness and I had to gather my men together but they had no idea who did it since it was not in any way our job so the whole thing started from here!" The man spoke with regret.

"I had to waste a lot of money on this…you are a businessman yourself, don't you know how much it hurts? Oh my my." He lamented.

Ryan took a picture of the dress and stared at it. It was exactly as the man described, instead of the normal golden color, it was black and looked burnt. Who the hell had played this trick on him?

He cracked his knuckles and returned the photo to the table.

"I apologize for the loss. The problem is from here and I promise to fix it, till then, your money will be refunded to you while we work on what happened." He replied.

"This is very suspicious though. I am sure that Mr. Ryan won't make such mistakes so this is definitely not his fault since he doesn't do things like this other than the jewelry so it must be from those you handed over the work to. You need to be careful, Mr. Ryan, and make sure that you investigate because this means that there is a loop somewhere." A man advised.

"Thank you." Ryan appreciated him. He snapped his fingers and Ben came over, he handed over the cheque with him. Ryan wrote the sum and signed it before passing it over to the weeping man.

He stood up after that.

"I apologize once again, Mr. Nelson. The meeting is over." He declared and walked out. Whatever discussion was left was postponed to another day.

As Ryan strolled to his office, Ben tried meeting up with him.

"Gather the CCTV camera reports for the down department in the next twenty-four hours and get me the register of those who signed in on the day the dress was made." He filed out his instructions.

"Consider it done, boss." Ben half saluted and turned around, leaving Ryan to walk back to his office alone while he went to do what he was ordered to. Whoever did this should consider it the worst mistake of his or her life!

"You what?!"

"I didn't do anything. The plan flipped over on its own." Evie tried explaining to Shaft in his office. He was looking at her as if he was about to eat her alive.

"Don't you dare lie to me, Evelyn! This was the perfect chance for you to get in but you went to ruin it."

"I give up. You wouldn't believe me even when I tell the truth." She shrugged. Shaft pulled out his gun and sat in front of her with a stern look.

"Enough joking for one eternity, girl. It seems you don't know your work anymore, right? Do you know how important this is? Remember I have your loved ones under my surveillance camera all the time and it seems you don't want to stop doing this job, that's why you keep delaying doing this."

Evelyn gritted her teeth at the threat and looked away.

"I don't care how you do it but all I know is that I give you two months…two f*cking hell months to present me with the location of the three eggs or else it won't be funny, I swear on my blood. I heard that he seems to be interested in women so you can use that. I don't care if you have to sleep with him for this…I don't at all, just present me with that in two months, no excuse. Am I clear or do you need me to make it more clearer?" Shaft asked with a tone of threat. He stood up and lit the bottom of his cigarettes.

"Your time starts counting from tomorrow. Get out!"

Evelyn stood up and dragged her heavy legs with her out of the office. How could she be unlucky in her life? Couldn't she just have that quiet and preserve life just like anybody else? Why must Shaft always torment her in this manner and all for his selfish interest? She was forcefully pushed in between the devil and the deep blue sea. She was too afraid to go in and it was too dangerous for her to go back. She was stuck.

Her phone rang at this moment.

"Hey babe, how did it go?" Debbie asked from the other side.

"Terrible [sighs]. If this happens to be a dream then it is a bad one, I am stuck Debbie and I have no clue how to get out of it." She sounded tired.

"Oh. I will come over later in the evening."

"Hmm."

The conversation ended and she climbed on her bike after coming out of the building completely. She zoomed off.

In Shaft's office, he watched her leave with another man beside him.

"Do you think she will be able to do it, boss?"

"She will. She is the perfect candidate for the job." He replied.
