"Young miss!"
"Young Arthur!"
"Y-yes!"
"U-uncle's is something the matter?"
"Young miss, may I ask, has something occurred in Durank City?"
Having been asked such a question by Uncle Albert, both Scarlet and Arthur looked at each other with blushing faces before immediately turning away with even redder faces.
They knew Uncle Albert wasn't talking about the reason for why their faces were red, but they couldn't help it every time they looked at each other or remember what happened at the Moon Cafe they would blush before turning away.
"Young Arthur, could you please explain?"
Without looking at Scarlet, Arthur explained why they cut their sightseeing trip short "Uncles Scarlet was almost poisoned."
"What! How could this be possible?"
"Who would dare?"
"Uncle's you do not need to worry. I am not poisoned, please let Arthur explain first."
With that Arthur explained from when they had left Mina's Inn to them returning back to the Inn.
Omitting the embarrassing parts…
"Young Arthur, you once again have my thanks!" Albert stood up and bowed. He truly felt thankful that they met Arthur.
"Young Arthur, truly if not for you-"
"Uncle's you don't need to thank me. I only did what I thought was right." Arthur said before following up with "What we need to discuss is how to deal with Jeffrey!"
"I had expected there to be a spy among my convoy, but to think it was actually Jeffrey all along. Not only that he was an assassin."
"If only the assassin was someone other than Jeffrey."
Hmm? Arthur didn't understand, could it be that he has a high rank among the soldiers?
From what he saw previously it didn't seem like he was a commander or even a vice commander.
Knowing Arthur would not understand, Thomas explained on behalf of Albert "Young Arthur, though Jeffrey is not a commander or even high ranking member among the Grand Duke's army; however, he has been part of Grand Duke's army for five years with an impeccably clear record. Most importantly and where the problem lies, he is someone with great trust and reputation among the common populace. You can even call him the champion of the commoners.
"It seems he has built quite a reputation for himself, but I still do not understand one thing. Even if his reputation is great among the populace, could it be that they won't even believe the words of the Grand Duke's daughter?"
"That is where the problem lies as the Grand Duke's only daughter normally the citizens should respect and trust the young miss; however, young miss has rarely attended social gatherings."
"Uncle Albert, it's not my fault that those nobles are a bunch of two faced schemers. Even my father and Uncle Edward agree I shouldn't attend!" Scarlet interjected with a pout.
"Young miss, I am not blaming you. In fact, you are right to not attend such gatherings" Albert said before continuing "What I mean to say is that for the common populace Jeffrey in a sense is a beacon of hope. Therefore, if the rarely seen and barely known Grand Duke's daughter were to accuse Jeffrey without proper evidence the common populace would think that you and maybe even the Royal Family are trying to oppress the common populace."
"But I would never, nor would my family!" Scarlet said.
"Young miss, Albert and I know you and the Royal Family would never want to oppress the common populace; in fact, the Royal Family has over the years tried to integrate the commoners into the army and even high standing positions."
"That's right, we only want the best for everyone. It is those two face schemers that always get in my father and Uncle Edward's way!"
"Can we not just interrogate him? Once he confesses to poisoning Scarlet's drink the common populace would have no choice but to believe Scarlet's words." Arthur said tiredly.
Talking about politics was making him tired.
Scarlet was almost subjected to being poisoned, yet she couldn't even prosecute Jeffrey.
Instead, she has to think about her own people.
"Even though that is a method and would most likely work. However, the outcome would still affect the reputation of the Royal Family."
"How could Scarlet's family be affected? Shouldn't they be sympathized for instead?"
"That is because the ambitious and insidious one's among the noble families would use this as a chance to undermine the Royal Family. With benefits they can easily get commoners on their side to spread rumors that Jeffrey was threatened to say that Scarlet was telling the truth of him poisoning her." Albert said depressedly.
Arthur was now officially frustrated.
What the heck was this?
The truth can't be spoken because it would actually help the enemies.
Was there no other way than to let Jeffrey parade around as some champion of justice?
Seeing Uncle Albert and Uncle Thomas's dejected faces he was even more outraged.
But most importantly seeing Scarlet's teary eyed face he felt his chest hurt.
Damn, there must be a solution.
"Haste"
"Boost"
Due to his current chaotic mood, Arthur accidentally said the buff spells out loud, earning confused expressions from the three.
But Arthur wasn't in the frame of mind to explain.
Ever since he initially used Haste and Boost, he had formed an initial theory which was that Haste increases the speed of all functions including the speed of his thought process.
As for Boost, he theorized that it could potentially work as an amplifier to boost the already twenty five percent speed increase from Haste to fifty percent.
And that was what he was hoping for.
Yuki had told them that the poison was a slow acting one.
That was so suspicions wouldn't be thrown at Jeffrey.
Therefore, Arthur didn't have much time, but thankfully, his theory had paid off.
He could feel his brain working at super speed.
After dozens of failed ideas, Arthur said with a crazed smile "Lets poison Scarlet!"
Albert: "What?"
Thomas: "Did I hear wrong?"
Even Scarlet was wondering if she had heard wrong. Previously when Arthur had used Haste and Boost Yuki had explained what he was doing.
With the same crazed smile as before, Arthur explained his absurd idea "If we need irrefutable evidence, all we need to do is create the irrefutable evidence!"
"Y-young Arthur, you mean that we should!" Albert said but didn't finish his thought process.
Now he understands what Arthur meant by poisoning his young miss in a sense it was a genius idea, but…
"Let's do it!" Scarlet said simply.
Arthur: "Huh!"
Albert: "Huh!"
Thomas: "Huh!"
"Arthur, what are you surprised about?" Scarlet said with puffed cheeks before pinching his arm.
"Ouch, Scarlet that hurts!"
"Humph, it was supposed to!"
"Okay, okay, can you please let go now?"
"Humph!" Scarlet snorted before finally letting go of his now bruised arm.
Rubbing his now bruised arm, Arthur said "Scarlet, the reason why I acted that way was because I didn't think you would agree with my crazy idea."
"Humph, why would I not? I do not want a fake champion of justice running around, especially after he ruined my date." Noticing everyone was staring at her stunned, Scarlet realized her mistake. "I-I-I meant
[Scarlet, dates, dates are also a fruit! Say there were dates in your tea. ]
"Y-yes dates, there were d-d-dates in my tea. He ruined my date tea…" [Thank you Yuki, you saved me!]
Dates?
If I remember correctly, the tea was almost caramel like.
So they used dates to make it.
What a wonderful idea.
But to think Scarlet is mad about the date tea being ruined.
She did have a poison free cup to enjoy.
While Arthur was completely oblivious to Scarlet's slip, Albert and Thomas were looking at each other with smiles on their faces; they had long noticed their young miss's different treatment of Arthur.
