Chapter 6: Happy Jack The Lad

Alpha Loggman, leader of the East-south pack in London, soon to be mayor and Alpha to every pack inside London, had just witnessed his impudent-wreckless twenty-six years old son, who was a complete full time drunk, and ladies man, raise his voice at him.

He was no doubt bewildered by such unfamiliar action. Jack still stood up looking at him, as if he had some kind of hidden superpowers aside from being a low leveled werewolf, that would certainly be nothing without his father's name attached to his.

Alpha Loggman, who was still seated, tried to understand if it was actually that Jack he knew, that had raised his voice at him, or someone else. Perhaps, it was just an unreal show playing in his head?

The Jack who he knew was a coward wolf, one that was too afraid to face his father and couldn't even stand beside the Alpha without shivering in fright of the unpredictable Alpha's wrath.

Still in denial, the Alpha Loggman focused a tense glare at the man across his desk, who was now spilling out things he believed were called opinions and thoughts.

 But with whom's permission?

"Father we aren't even sure if she truly carries a child, or if the child is mine" Jack spoke, but his eyes now opened wide to see his father's scowling look. He froze and became numb as he now realized he was doing something he had never done in his entire life, he was raising his voice at the mighty Grey wolf.

Jack suddenly felt a frisson of fear as he immediately regretted his action. However, seeing his father not even react to this was more frightening to him. The now obedient werewolf, sat himself down, as he raised his fallen chair.

He didn't come close but shifted backward instead.

"My-my apologies Father," He said, slightly stuttering to the Alpha who had a brooding ill expression on his face.

Jack's father now looked at him sternly, making Jack try to avoid his face. Although his father was surely angered but didn't give Jack the expected reaction. Maybe he was still too surprised by the young wolf's action.

The young wolf had so many faults, but there were only two things his father knew he was good at. He was a gentleman for the ladies, and also, he knew never to raise his voice at the man who had raised him and supplied him with all his needs and desires.

Today, Jack had broken that record he had managed to keep over the years. He didn't seem to know his place anymore.

As Jack, the young wolf, who had seen that his father had not reacted now to his misconduct, knew there were going to be consequences, sooner or later.

In a very cold and dark atmospheric tone, Alpha Loggman said, "You will marry this girl, you will not ruin my career, you will not bring more shame to me," He listed it like it was the commandments "And you will not cause for war.

He asked the wolf whom he was sure had already grasped, "Do you understand me?"

With a low obedient tone, "Yes, Alpha Loggman."

Still maintaining the scary-dark-looking facial expression and cold voice, he spoke "Leave"

The smaller wolf left as commanded, still holding the bad news(letter) in his hand.

Now outside the wolf's chambers, Jack repeatedly hit his fists against the wall, groaning out in absolute anger and sadness.

On hearing Jack's screams, the Luna, his stepmother, who was still in the mansion, went running to exasperated Jack.

"Jack!" She called out worriedly as she stopped him from giving the innocent wall hard blows.

She took his bleeding fists and tried doing something about them, at least to just make it look in a better state. Although she knew he was going to heal fast, as it was one of the werewolves' special abilities.

As she was massaging his hurt hands, letting tears trickle down her cheeks in hurt, she saw the rumpled paper in his hand.

Jack just leaned his forehead on an arm, facing the wall.

"Good gracious." Mrs Loggman said with a palm on her chest and mouth agape. She was still staring deeply into the note. "Clarrissa?"

Outside the mansion now, Jack sat in the vehicle as he moved, heading to the main town, with his head resting against the glass window. Jack was being driven to where he didn't know yet.

He stayed in the backseat with the chauffeur at the front. The driver wore a black cap that had a werewolf symbol on it. He was a werewolf. Even without the symbol, Jack could have still told, as fellow werewolves could naturally scent each other from afar.

With white short gloves worn on his hands, which exposed a little of his yellow-like toned skin, the chauffeur drove him, steering the wheels.

The chauffeur in yellow and black uniform and a black face cap, asked as he looked up the driver's front mirror, "Where to Mr Jack?"

Gloomy Jack, who felt like committing suicide, because he was being forced into an unwanted marriage, didn't answer the driver for a while. He looked like he was thinking a lot, with head resting on the car's window. He appeared like an already dead wolf.

After a little while, a sudden mischievous leer now appeared on Jack's face, as he lifted his head. It caused the chauffeur to be startled slightly as it was so sudden. The driver, who looked at Jack from the front mirror, saw that he was now livelier. It surprised the driver how fast he could change demeanours.

"The old South's Bull tavern," Jack said in a lively tone.

The young male refused to be sad and decided to be a Jack the Lad once more, and probably forever.

The driver took in a gulp before driving to the place. He didn't want the boss's wrath to fall on him as he was just a driver. He knew the male had been warned severely not to go there, but he had no choice than to follow his instructions.

Off to the pub they went.

"You," Said Jack, pointing at one of his mates.

He was now inside the tavern where wolves from different packs would come and enjoy themselves with mundane ladies. Most of these wolves could bring along their friends to whom they had revealed their forms to.

Jack had two crazy fellas as friends. One whose name was Leo was a werewolf, and the other, who was human, his name was Aurthur.

It was him whom Jack was pointing at.

"You will be the best man," He said sounding drunk. He was drunk. He now pointed to Leo who was a bad, bad werewolf, just like him. "You on the other hand will lose the rings, get wasted before me, and put me in bigger trouble"

He had a bottle of whiskey in his hand, gulping the drink down his throat at intervals, as he spoke.

His two mates laughed at drunk Jack. They were drunk also, but Jack was the most wasted. They were British good-looking gents like him, and they were like birds of the same feather, but in this case, wolves of the same pack.

Leo smoked in a long pipe. He gave a little cough before he said to Aurthur who was resting his head, drunk on the table, "Jack can't seem to forget his Lady Lyya." They both laughed out in mockery "Your wedding's been called off mate. Deal with it."

"Not that one," Jack slurred "The Shit's making me get married to Clarrissa to save his ass."

Aurthur who had been resting his head now jerked up as he looked at Leo, who shared the same shocked expression.

Jack now rested his head and slurred, " miss you Lyya."

He now blacked out and his consciousness travelled to memory lane.
