Chapter 1~ Rooftop
Amnelle
"Where do you want to go?" asked Oliver with his smiling eyes.
We were on top of the roof of a building, sitting right outside, where one could see the beautiful night light in the city.
Oliver appeared friendly, and I could always feel his warmth whenever he spoke. He had a way of making me lost in his dazzling eyes.
So soft and gullible he was.
I felt like stealing a kiss from his lips, knowing fully well that he couldn't even react rudely raising his voice at me as he was that innocent. But what I worried about, was the effect it'd have on our long term friendship.
I pursesd my lips, feeling it get moistured in my mouth.
"Mmm..," I pretended to think, knowing the answer well. I replied instead, redirecting. "Where do you want to go?"
He laughed, "I don't know. You've always been the one with big dreams."
I smiled.
"Paris. And I know you knew."
We grinned at each other almost forgetting the world.
Oliver, an English American. He was a fine blonde and beta of the Grasswood pack after his father.
One young Beta that had the cutest set of teeth ever, and would often show it off whenever he smiled, exposing those dimples of his.
He was a close friend of mine whom I had shared thoughts with for years.
Oliver was an attractive sixteen years old that had got not just one, but all the girls dripping.
He was kind. Maybe too kind. He got all the girls following him around, some even playing with him like hore ass flirts because of his kind gentleman style.
It vexed me sometimes, but seeing the way he always came back to me made me feel special to him. He was loyal to our friendship.
We had known each other for eight years and I remember how we first met.
At first, I didn't like him-at all. Well, maybe just a tad. But the thing was that we were enemies at first and would always quarrel.
Though Oliver didn't yell, but he made it clear to me that he had thoughts.
We were young and from different packs.
I sighed at this.
I was the daughter of minister Penson. He was an Alpha, but mostly maintained the title Minister.
While Oliver was the lad of Mr and Mrs Gunn. Mr Gunn; a former Beta.
They were of the free class, though my father, who was a leader, often refferd to them as low class.
I call it free class because they had no worries of perfection and fame. And hell they even had no rules!
Well, except to survive.
"Would you do that someday? Would you leave everything behind?"
"First thing when I finally grow up." I answered not understanding the question. "Could you believe father got me a body guard?" he lifted his brows in surprise. "Even after he'd hired a chauffeur to drive me around town. I'm like his prisoner and twelve years old in his sight."
Oliver noticed my sad expression and came closer to me. He rested my head on his masculine shoulder, wrapping his arms around me.
I felt a tingle there as it was Oliver whom I longed for all this while. He did get intimate at times. But it was all too casual in his head. He felt it was just a regular friend embracing another.
It felt good though.
"Nelle," he called suddenly shifting me.
What happened? Was something wrong?
Oliver took me by the hand and I followed suit, wondering where he was taking me to.
We climbed down the stairs of the building, and hid on seeing my grumpy looking guard.
"Shhh." hushed him. We were close and he was against me on the wall of an alley.
I smiled at him as I looked into his eyes.
His face was so close to mine and I heard a voice say, 'Lean forward.'
"What?"
"Lean forward." Oliver's face came closer to mine and at this point I was too tensed to even react. The air on his face slowly hugged mine and my heart thuded once. He then shifted sideways to check on my bodyguard. "We have to let him loose."
My eyes extended before I asked, "What?! Why?"
"Come," He held my hand. He took me by the corner and the moment I thought we were gonna walk slowly, Oliver smiled at me as he said to me, "Run!"
