"I have always been loyal to you, Anton!"
Charlotte cried as she gripped the cell bars tightly. Pain and despair were visible in her eyes, tears continuing to flow down her face as she looked at Anton's emotionless face.
"I already told you, Charlotte, your loyalty doesn't matter."
Anton's cold voice sliced through Charlotte as he reached through the bars on the other side of the cell to grab her chin, pulling her closer to him as he spoke.
"Nothing matters anymore,"
he sneered, his eyes aflame with anger.
"You're here because you've proven utterly incapable of the one thing expected of you – to bear me an heir, to secure the Ancer legacy. How could you, Charlotte?"
Anton's voice dripped with cruelty as he lashed out at Charlotte, his words leaving wounds deeper than any blade.
Charlotte's heart quivered with each accusatory word, her world unraveling as she faced not only her husband's betrayal but also his heartless reproach.
She realized that the loveless marriage that had tormented them both had transformed into a battleground, where every wound cut to the bone.
Although Charlotte didn't love Anton, she had been loyal to him ever since their marriage. And the only thing she wished for was for him to give back the loyalty that she had given him.
But he never did. What's worse is that he cheated with Charlotte's own half-sister, her sister who did everything she could to ruin every second of Charlotte's life.
"Just wait for seven days, and you'll be meeting your family soon. And thanks for keeping me company during those days when Isabelle was gone."
With those words, he left, leaving Charlotte once again alone in the dark dungeon. The mention of her family made her emotions even worse. Meeting them was something she had always wanted, but not like this.
"Anton! Anton Come back!"
She pleaded as she shook the cell bars in both anger and sadness. Her screams and cries echoed and filled the whole dungeon as she watched Anton's retreating figure.
She bit her lip as the loud thud of the closing door echoed through the dungeon. She knew that from this point on, her fate would be sealed.
The start of the seven horrible days in her life.
