Adam Jones spoke in a tone so indifferent that Daisy Thompson's recently kindled joy quickly faded away.
"Of course, just because I don't take you seriously doesn't mean you can bother my family whenever you please. The only reason I'm wasting my time speaking with you is to give you this single warning. Don't harass my wife or anyone close to me again. Otherwise, Mrs. Green, your days will quickly come to an end."
Adam's tone was light, his expression didn't show a hint of severity. It was as if he was addressing a stranger.
Still, his warning was not to be overlooked in the least.
Daisy Thompson and Sophia Green, who were still harboring a sliver of hope, were so frightened by Adam's casual warning that they stumbled backward, their hearts skipping a beat.
"If you don't want to cause any trouble for Cam Green because of two foolish women like yourselves, you'd best remember what I said."
