Elly Campbell knew Adam Jones was pretending to be ignorant, but she couldn't refute him.
If she argued, Adam would definitely accuse her of having an unhealthy mind, obsessed with that sort of thing.
And ultimately, she would be the one at a loss.
Lately, he had become quite articulate, and she couldn't win against him.
Giving him a silent eye roll, she directly avoided the topic.
Adam leaned in, whispering coaxingly, "Don't be angry, I made breakfast, come and eat."
He hooked Elly's little finger, teasingly scraping it against the palm of her hand, earning a glare from her and she shook him off.
After breakfast, Adam took it upon himself to take their son to school, and then drove Elly to work.
On the way to the company, thinking about how Adam had been delayed here for a while, and that the Jones Corporation couldn't possibly do without him, she asked:
"It's been so many days, are you not going back to Boston? Aren't you concerned about the company's affairs?"
