Standing to the side, Melody Baker and her daughter exchanged a glance when they heard James Campbell's words. The anger that Elly Campbell had incited in them also dissipated somewhat.
Sophie Baker walked over to James Campbell's side, clasping his arm, and gently patted his back, which was heaving with rage. In a soft voice, she consoled him:
"Dad, let it go. Don't make yourself sick with anger. You now own fifty-five percent of the Campbell shares, and from now on, the Campbells will heed your word. Even the directors can't stop your decisions. If you think about it this way, doesn't it make you feel a bit happier?"
Hearing Sophie's gentle voice, James Campbell's anger indeed subsided a lot. He reached out and softly patted the back of her hand, saying:
"You're such a good girl, Sophie. Your dad hasn't spoiled you for nothing."
