I got up from my school bus seat, but then my best friend, Rose, calls out "Bye Zane."
"Bye Rose!" I say smiling as Rose smiles back at me. I get off the bus, passing all the other kids on the bus. Most of them were texting or laughing.
"Bye Miss. Marry. " That's one bus drivers name. I walk down the stairs reaching the concrete sidewalk with my two feet. I hear the doors close as I look up to my house. I breathe in and out scared about coming out to my mom about being transgender and gay.
I walk up to the front door grabbing the keys out of my back pocket to unlock the white coloured door.
"I got this... I hope." I giggle to myself as I unlock the door walking inside. I hang up my backpack on a hook that we keep by the front door. "Hey mom!" I say smiling,
"Zoey! How was school!"
"It was great! Well I am going to my room. But I wanted to say..." I felt like I could say I was transgender to my mom. But I couldn't say it. "...I love you."
"I love you more." I smile at what my mom says and walk into my room.
Why can't I just tell her? I slide down my door after locking it. After hitting the floor I tuck my head into my carmine red sweater.
I just sit there, waiting for someone to call my name, and someone does.
I hear a dig from my phone. I pick it up and see that Zane, my boyfriend, Danny, texted. "Hey Zane! What did your mom say?"
"I got to scared, I mean we live in Florida, a state full homophobics and trasphobics." I texted back,
"Yeah. Well I got to go. But if you ever need to talk I'm here" Danny texts,
" Bye." I text back.
