Chapter 1 - NEW WORLD

"Ladies and gentlemen, noble subjects of the great Kingdom of Suncrest,

Today, I stand before you not as a king, but as a humble messenger of triumph, hope, and unity. The dawn of a new era has risen upon our beloved land, and it is my privilege to share this momentous news with you all.

For years, we have faced the most formidable and fearsome villain that history will remember - the dark scourge, Aznair. His tyranny cast a long shadow over our land, and his reign of terror left us in despair. The courageous hearts of Suncrest, led by a hero of unmatched valor, Aldon, rose to the challenge to vanquish this malevolent force.

It was a battle like no other, a struggle between light and darkness, good and evil, a test of our unwavering resolve. And today, I am filled with immense pride and joy to announce to you that Aznair has been defeated. Our brave hero, Aldon, laid down his life for the greater good, making the ultimate sacrifice to secure the future of our kingdom.

Aldon, a name that will forever be etched in the annals of our history, demonstrated courage and selflessness beyond measure. He gave his all, so we could stand here today, free from the fear that once gripped our hearts. Let us remember his sacrifice, for it was his noble act that extinguished the darkness that loomed over Suncrest.

Now, as the shadows dissipate and the sun breaks through, a new world dawns upon us. With Aznair's defeat, we welcome a future filled with hope, prosperity, and peace. This victory is not mine to claim, nor is it Aldon's alone. It is the victory of every citizen of Suncrest, every heart that held onto the belief that good shall always prevail over evil.

Our kingdom has shown resilience, unity, and the indomitable spirit that defines the people of Suncrest. It is in moments like these that we understand the true strength of our great nation. As we rebuild, as we heal, as we move forward, let us carry forward the legacy of Aldon and all those who stood beside him in the battle against darkness.

Let us be guardians of the light, protectors of the peace, and champions of unity. The sacrifices made, the trials endured, and the darkness overcome have brought us to this moment of triumph. And in this new world, the people of Suncrest can look forward to a brighter, more prosperous, and harmonious future.

I extend my gratitude to all of you for your unwavering support, and I offer my deepest condolences to the families of those who gave their lives for our kingdom. Let us remember them, honor them, and build a better world for their memory.

In the name of Suncrest and in memory of our hero, Aldon, I declare that the dawn of our new world is upon us. May peace and prosperity shine brightly upon our great kingdom once more!"

In the 15 years that have passed since that triumphant speech, the Kingdom of Suncrest has flourished. A newfound era of stability and harmony has graced our land, thanks to the unity and resilience of our people. In our quest for a brighter, more prosperous future, the government took decisive steps to support the dreams and aspirations of its citizens.

First, they established swordsmanship schools to train and evaluate knights. These knights, true defenders of our realm, have become pillars of strength and honor. Magic schools were also created, where young mages honed their mystical talents to bolster the kingdom's magical prowess. The synergy between sword and spell created an unprecedented force of magic swordsmen, protecting our land with unmatched skill.

But there was one institution that stood above all others, a symbol of our unwavering commitment to equality and opportunity. The Philion Academy was erected, a beacon of hope for all those who aspired to greatness. It was a place where only talent mattered, without discrimination based on one's birthright. The academy offered every course imaginable, from swordsmanship to magic and everything in between. It became the dream of every Suncrest citizen to walk through its hallowed halls.

However, earning a place in the Philion Academy was no simple task. The standards were exceptionally high, and competition was fierce. Only a select few students were granted the privilege of enrolling in this prestigious institution, and they were considered the cream of the crop, the shining stars of Suncrest.

The kingdom had witnessed a transformation. The Philion Academy had become the epicenter of innovation and knowledge. Its graduates were not only exceptionally skilled but also instilled with a deep sense of honor and the importance of protecting the kingdom.

In this climate of opportunity and excellence, the citizens of Suncrest continued to thrive and grow. The heroism of Aldon and the unwavering commitment to a better future had truly shaped the destiny of the kingdom. With the academy, they were not just shaping the destiny of their students but also that of Suncrest itself. The dream of a prosperous and harmonious life was well within reach for every citizen, no matter their background.

As the years passed, the legacy of Aldon lived on, not only in the speeches and monuments but in the hearts of those who walked the halls of the Philion Academy and in the hearts of every citizen who looked forward to a brighter and more promising future. The Kingdom of Suncrest, forged through the crucible of adversity, had emerged stronger than ever, ready to face any challenges that lay ahead.

In a quaint village nestled on the outskirts of the Kingdom of Suncrest, a young boy named Azen was far from the average lad his age. As the morning sun painted the landscape with warm hues, his sister, Lyra, encouraged him to a life that was more than just training and eating.

"Azen, don't just train and eat. You won't get enrolled if you're not in good shape. Also, help Father in the fields; it's the reaping time," she reminded him with a hint of gentle admonishment.

"Yes, sister," Azen replied dutifully, but there was a glimmer of something extraordinary in his eyes, a secret he was eager to share.

Lyra watched as Azen swung a wooden sword around, his movements swift and precise. "But look at that, I cut off the whole tree with just one strike. Isn't it amazing?" Azen beamed with a boyish enthusiasm.

"Dummy, you can't cut a tree with a single strike with a wooden sword of yours... Wait, you actually did it?" Lyra's eyes widened in astonishment.

Azen nodded, his excitement barely contained. "I just put some of the powers from nature into my sword and sliced the tree. But it happened for an instant only. I had to concentrate on the nature, and then my sword started glowing. When I struck the air, it formed an air blade and struck the tree. And the tree was cut off!"

Lyra's astonishment turned into a wide-eyed realization. "Really? That means you have a talent not only as a swordsman but also as a mage. Since the numbers of magic swordsmen are not very high, you might get enrolled in the Philion Academy for sure. Wait, let me tell Mother about it. She will be really happy."

Azen's heart swelled with hope as he watched his sister rush back to the village, her footsteps filled with excitement. His dreams of attending the prestigious Philion Academy had always felt like a distant star, but now, perhaps, it was within his reach. The legacy of Aldon, the hero of Suncrest, inspired him every day, and he knew that his newfound talents might just be the key to becoming a guardian of the kingdom's peace.

As the tale of Azen's extraordinary abilities began to circulate within the village, whispers of his potential spread like wildfire. The news reached the ears of those who could make a difference, and the destiny of this young, gifted boy became inexorably entwined with the legacy of Suncrest, a legacy that had embraced hope, courage, and the unwavering belief in a better future.

Azen's heart was filled with both hope and trepidation as he approached his parents, ready to share his dream of enrolling in the prestigious Philion Academy. He knew that it would not be easy, especially considering his commoner background, but he felt a calling within him, a drive to become more than just a farmer. However, as he broached the topic, he could sense the concern and hesitation in his parents' eyes.

"Son, maybe you don't want to listen to this, but as your father, I don't want to send you to that prestigious school," his father began, his voice laced with worry. "There, only the nobles are suited. You, as a son of a farmer, nothing more than a commoner, are not suited for that environment. You will be treated as a worthless being by the nobles, whether you're talented or not. It actually doesn't matter."

Lyra, Azen's sister, quickly chimed in, supporting her brother's aspirations. "But, Father, Azen has what it takes to become a great man, a great soldier who can protect us from dangers. And if Azen can graduate from the Philion Academy, then his and his family's title will change from commoner to noble. No other noble, like Johan Johnson, will be able to harass us."

"No, Lyra, what your father is saying is true. I don't want to become a noble or anything. What I really want is for you both to be happy. But that high and mighty academy is not for you, Azen, or any commoners like us."

"Why, Mother?" Azen inquired, seeking understanding.

His mother, with a sad but knowing look in her eyes, began to explain the harsh reality. "Well, think carefully, everybody can take the Philion Academy test, but commoners are not allowed to wield a sword. Isn't that the reason why you can only train with wooden swords and not with real swords? How can you perform in the exam without the experience of wielding a real sword? Commoners are only allowed to wield swords in the academy, which is why only a few of them get enrolled. It's not that they lack talent, but they don't have the privilege the nobles possess."

Listening to his mother's explanation, Azen pondered the obstacles in his path. He understood the weight of tradition and prejudice that existed in the kingdom. But his determination remained unshaken.

"I understand your concern, Mother, but I have to give it a try, at least," Azen declared with resolve. "If I don't get enrolled, then I won't think about pursuing something like this and will focus on the house and farming like Father. But if I get enrolled, I won't let anything bother me. If the nobles try to bully me, I won't protest against them. So, please let me try, at least. Please, Mother. Please, Father."

His father, seeing the fire in Azen's eyes and the sincerity in his voice, hesitated before responding. "Well, if you're this determined to give the test a try, then very well, I will not object. Don't you agree, honey?" he asked, looking to his wife for support.

She nodded, her eyes softening as she gazed at her son. "Well, if you put it that way, then I have no right to object. But remember, Azen, you have to be happy. Don't push yourself."

With gratitude in his heart, Azen embraced his family, thankful for their understanding and support in his quest to chase a dream that had been kindled by the legacy of a great hero, Aldon, and the promise of a brighter future for the Kingdom of Suncrest.

A fresh adventure awaits Azen in his life, replete with both positive and negative experiences. What truly matters is whether he can conquer these challenges.

Until we meet again. This is my debut, so I hope you find it enjoyable..
