"Kaito sent this. He says he'll meet us back in the imperial capital." Thea muttered, holding up a letter.
Ares, riding his horse with an air of quiet authority, cast a grim glance at the letter. Nyx slept peacefully around his neck, oblivious to the tension. "I don't need to read it," he said, his voice low and even. "Let's just go."
Thea sighed, tucking the letter into the bag around her waist. She glanced over at Lysander, who rode alongside his siblings, and caught his "I told you so" look.
She frowned, mouthing, "What do you want me to say to him?"
"Mention her name," Lysander mouthed, and Thea immediately turned back to Ares.
"Eleanor says she missed you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
