"Just Eleanor is fine," she said, forcing a smile, still startled by the sudden appearance of the light fairy.
Thea nodded slowly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I didn't expect to find you here."
Eleanor's irritation grew, her tone heavy with sarcasm. "Yet, here we are. Together. How delightful." Her heart seethed with jealousy, the urge to push Thea out of the tree becoming almost overwhelming.
"I suppose you're wondering how I know this place?" Thea asked, her smile unwavering.
Eleanor shrugged, feigning indifference. "You were Ares's lover. I'm not surprised you know his magical hidden mansion." But the words cut deep, her heart heavy with the tiny thought of Ares's past with Thea.
Thea's smile brightened, her pride evident. "Yes, he brought me here once. A long time ago."
