The couple turned to face Galen, who was beaming at them with an enthusiastic smile. And while Ares' expression instantly turned blank with disinterest, Eleanor was too engrossed in her thoughts to react.
"Run away! Run away from Ares right now! RUN AWAY!"
Her body stiffened, and she felt a sudden impulse to pull her hand free from Ares' grasp.
Just as she was about to, Ares leaned in close, whispering in her ear, "Look to your left."
And she did, spotting Kaito standing at the corner, sipping wine and chatting with the serving maids.
"Go meet Kaito," Ares instructed. "He'll lead you to me at the altar in a few minutes."
With that, he released her hand and turned his attention to Galen, whose smile was obviously hiding a darker intent.
