"It's Inara," Atlan settled back into the cushion, crossing his arms as if daring anyone to prove him wrong. "Adonis would never harm his unborn child or his wives. He's not capable of that."
"I agree." Ares nodded, his raised eyebrow flicking towards Lysander, whose frown deepened.
"Inara has nothing to do with Azrael," Lysander muttered. "I have access to her mind. I'd know."
"And why should we trust you? What makes your word so credible?" Thea asked, her tone frosty, her eyes exposing a deep-seated loathing.
Lysander turned his frowning face to her, his expression darkening. "Azrael is here to kill Ares, and he'll stop at nothing to drown the world in darkness and blood."
Thea's eyes lit up with sarcasm. "Oh, you're concerned about the world's well-being?"
Lysander rolled his eyes. "Do you really think I care about that?"
"Oh my!" Thea gasped, offended.
