Caged between the Lycan brothers
Chapter 9
Her back was sore, it felt as if her skin was being peeled off with raw acid and her head was loud enough to dance as if it were a beat. Her legs were numb and the sounds of laughter and mockery filled her ears as the lashes of last night kept slashing her skin vigorously.
She hoped for Layla not to come, but she did and she didn't know how she would survive it. Her stomach rumbled in hunger as a sharp pain bit her from the effect of the angry worms feeding on her flesh. She trembled in pain and wept bitterly.
She didn't deserve this, her only crime was being a rogue after her parents passed away. Her father was the Delta of her Pack in White Moon but during the time of the Great Thanksgiving Festival that happened annually, a rite to appreciate the Moon goddess in the White Moon Pack. The rogues attacked and killed a lot as if they had plans for this day. The Alpha and Luna weren't left out and it was a total blood bath, They scampered around for safety and she lost her younger sister, Nicole.
It was hard, it was painful and bitter separating from her last surviving family and when these strange Rogues took over the territory of the pack, the majority of them were sent out as an outcast.
She wandered around in the woods, forest, and streets for days hoping to live to find shelter but she met with men of valour who were scented differently from her species. She was captured immediately and taken to her Alpha and as he found a new toy to lay out his frustration on, he agreed to make her their maid.
A life that has been filled with pain.
The door creaked open and her heart slammed heavily, expecting a yell from Lalyla of her league of wicked runts to lash out at her but it wasn't any of them.
It was the Gamma's grandmother, the Pack's healer.
Kaylan was too shocked to make a move, she had no business with a prominent person like her so why was she here? The Gamma had been out of town to make inquiries concerning their enemy pack and his mother hated her presence like a moth. Generally, the pack members of Crescent Star hated her existence but this woman did.
There was something warm in the eyes each time she tested her, her grey hair was tied neatly to the back, and the lilac silky gown she wore suited her slightly wrinkled face and bright skin. She walked up to where Kaylan lay and sighed deeply.
"You need to eat child or you will die before they kill you." She said and Kaylan almost chuckled.
"I don't have access to anything. I'll take water instead" She said and she twitched her lips.
"You should leave Crescent Star." She blurted out.
"But how?" Kaylan cried out frustratingly, not caring if this woman was entrapping her or not, she was just too desperate to express her pain and wouldn't mind any suggestions given to her, she needed to run. She needs to flee, she needs to disappear but these two sons of whosoever has birth to them would fish her out swiftly.
"I don't know," the woman said, unwrapping the fish cakes she had brought along with her and Kaylan stood up abruptly as her stomach rumbled in delight.
"But what I know is that you would kill the little light you have in you by staying where you're not wanted. Use any little to your advantage and flee, Don't go to Northern Packs, Cypher visits there often to make trouble or to make alliances. Go to the Eastern Packs, become a maid there and you will find rest." She advised and stretched the cake to Kaylan who ate hungrily like her life depended on it and drank the bottled water.
"Here." She stretched the medicine to her and she took it.
"I'm not saying this because I care too much but I can't stand it watching you suffer. You remind me so much about my great-granddaughter who passed away from an illness. Use every opportunity and flee, once you become his Luna you're tied, for life." She said and stood up
"Wait Lilith," Kaylan called.
"What if I make them lay low for a while?" Kaylan asked, feeling a new surge of ebetand motivation bursting through her.
"As long as you're safe, I don't give a damn child." She smiled at her and sighed and Kaylan stood up.
Her body screamed in pain but she was going to push it away and act fast, she couldn't believe that she had forgotten about the possibility of getting her freedom, of getting her revenge on these men.
She dragged herself to the kitchen to fix a meal for the two Alphas, it was her duty after all and no one would stop her, well; except for the mocking and jestings.
"She thinks she would survive being with the Alpha, did you see how shameless she was last night?" One of the maids giggled as soon as she saw her and the others followed suit.
"Yeah, being flogged naked is a crime for criminals but this slut oger here takes the honour of getting that every week! Why not die and save those sweet Alphas from the stress of dealing with you!" Another yelled heavily but Kaylan was in the right mood that none of their rantings got to her.
She had a solid mission ahead but a slap at the back of her neck distracted her and stung her skin painfully.
"How dare you snub Huh? Who the hell do you-"
She wasn't done with her statement when a hot searing slap landed on her cheeks painfully and everyone gasped in horror.
"If you lay your hands on me again, I'll destroy you and gladly receive any punishment. If you don't have anything else in mind to do, fucking shut up and
Leave me alone!!" Kaylan yelled in agony and stomped out before any of them would come for her.
She entered Cypher's chambers, he sat with Zane and two of his Deltas discussing something really important.
"Leave for now! All of you." Cypher said as her scent circulated the house and his whole system became messed up.
"But we are yet to finalise the Territories that align within the –"
"I said fucking leave!!" He growled at the Delta who swallowed in surprise and bowed and one by one, they left; leaving him alone with Kaylan who set the table with his meal.
He couldn't sleep throughout the night even though he tried to force himself. He raged with his beast all night, trying to stay calm, trying to shut his ears from hearing her cries, and trying so hard not to make a scene by going out there to stop everything. He had the power to do that and he knew but he just couldn't.
She looked weak, worn out, and malnourished to the least.
He shut his eyes and balled his fingers into a tight fist, how much more would he suffer for this? He wanted to throw everything away and grab the forbidden. He just wanted to protect, own, and claim her. Was this how fucked up his life was going to be?
He shouldn't be feeling this way but he realised that this was now coming out naturally from him, he couldn't help it.
"Sit down Kaylan." He ordered calmly for the very first time since he laid her eyes on her and she didn't move an inch.
"SIT KAYLAN!" He ordered and that word of authority alone made her scramble to the seat. His moves were precise and unexpected as he shocked her by going to her back and packing her tangled rough hair up into a bun.
She shivered, and the goose filled her skin. Her throat became dried and the feel of his fingers on her hair almost made her moan.
What in the Moon goddess name was wrong with Cypher? She couldn't explain but she knew that he stared at her darkly, with regret, want, care, and worry. She saw it through him but she didn't buy the shitty emotions. The bond was confusing him and he would go back to being the demon he is.
Cypher swallowed as he saw how fair and neat her neck looked for the first time. He had a strong urge to suck but he knew it would freak her out.
He was already hard, staring at her and wishing unimaginable dirty things he had longed buried and he knew he had to start avoiding her. This is just too wrong.
"Make sure you eat all the food on that table before you leave here, it's an order from your Alpha." He pronounced more like a warning and Kaylan was doomed.
She has poisoned the food before coming over to serve him.
