Cypher moved swiftly to his room with Kaylan in his arms as if he were carrying a piece of tissue and placed her on the bed.
He didn't say a word but stared at her because he knew she was going to freak out too.
When he was trying so hard to make the environment less tense with her, to keep her comfortable and loose, his brother had to worsen things for him.

Kaylan couldn't look at his eyes, she was scared and freaking out and was expecting the next yell from him.
She couldn't help it.
She's still too dazed to be relaxed, she's too afraid to feel that everything is going to be alright when she's known pain and anger all her life.
She knew he was staring at her and her blood pumped hotly in her chest, a frustrated sigh escaped his lips and tears slid down her cheeks.
