Fae were mythical creatures, they had special abilities like the Witches but they were still different in their own way. More like cute fairies and the power of the invisibility was what made them stand out, walking like non existent shadows.
He forgot about their rules, he had no business with them as he thought they never existed.

Either born with additional traits or not, it was their duty to get their own to wherever place they might be before they get killed as they were very little in the world.
