Mrs. Li and Mrs. Zhou, both of similar age to Mrs. Xue, were also very efficient at working. Together with Honglian and a few others, they divided the tasks—two chopping meat and two chopping vegetables. It wasn't long before all the dumpling fillings were ready. Mrs. Xue and Mrs. Zhu then kneaded the dough and left it resting on the bed.

The Xu family, fortunately, really had several cutting boards; otherwise, there wouldn't have been enough to go around. Mrs. Xue and her sisters-in-law were all making dumplings in the grandmother's room, while Mrs. Li and Mrs. Zhou were making dumplings in the west house.
With so many people, it didn't take long before several trays of dumplings were ready. "Let's just follow these fillings, add a bit more, and I assure you it will be enough," said Mrs. Chen.
