Wenhan and Jinghan, they still went to the forest every day to forage for things like winter mushrooms, hazelnuts, acorns, walnuts, pine cones, and so on. Since the nearby places were exhausted, they ventured further away. Being far from the ginseng fields, sometimes they inevitably encountered large animals. Once, just after they'd climbed over a ridge, before they could even descend, they saw a herd of wild boars crossing the gully below.
The children were so frightened they didn't dare move, all crouching there, afraid to even breathe, until the wild boars had all passed by. Only then did they stand up. Wenhan patted his chest, still shaken, and said, "We can't go too far away in the future. What would we do if something had happened? I was scared to death just now."
