The dumplings were ready; some were scooped onto a plate, and the rest onto a drainer. Placing a stick of firewood under one end of the drainer, the dumpling soup dripped through the gaps.
Naturally, there were two tables in the house, one on the bed and one on the ground, with everyone gathered around them.
