Michael laughed, "Mommy, I wasn't really tense until you brought it up, and now I'm getting nervous again."
Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Melody Foster glanced at Michael.
She had indeed hit the nail on the head.
Nigel Clegg smiled and reached out to take Melody Foster's hand.
"Dad's not here," he said.
"What?" Melody Foster was momentarily stunned, "Why?"
Didn't they just come back together this morning?
"That's just annoying!" Victoria's mommy placed her hands on her hips, "I just got a call from the Safety Bureau Headquarters saying there was an urgent matter to deal with, and he rushed off without a moment's delay."
"Mommy, if something can call Dad away, then it must be very important. Don't be mad at him," Michael now took Hank Clegg's side, "There are times when you're suddenly too busy to pay attention to him, too."
"Yeah," Nigel Clegg tried to console Victoria in another way, "With him gone, Melody can relax a bit more, right?"
