"Is this the painting your father often looked at?" Nigel Clegg asked Jane Foster.
He saw a painting that was overly oxidized, clearly having been around for some years.
The artist's brushstrokes and the use of color were hardly discernible.
He picked up the painting, weighing it slightly in his hands.
It was light, including its frame.
Just from the feel of it, he knew there definitely wasn't anything hidden inside the frame.
"Is there a problem with the painting?" Melody Foster asked, now feeling some pain again, her speech trembling.
Nigel Clegg didn't say anything; he just took out the medicine.
"Take your medicine first." He poured water for Melody Foster.
Melody Foster obediently placed the pill in her mouth and then drank the water.
Suddenly, she choked, and the water in her mouth sprayed all over the painting.
Damn!
Nigel Clegg thought.
He hurriedly moved the painting away.
"I'm sorry..." Melody Foster hastily apologized, "Did I mess things up...?"
