Melody Foster looked at Nigel Clegg.
Trust shone in her eyes.
"Michael, if you have any questions, just ask. I will definitely tell you the truth," she said weakly.
Nigel Clegg paused for a moment but ultimately asked.
"Did your father leave any inheritance at all?"
Melody Foster was slightly taken aback, then her eyes slowly filled with tears.
"You're asking that as well..." she murmured.
"Melody," for some reason, hearing her say that made Nigel Clegg's heart flutter with panic.
He feared she would overthink, so he quickly said to her, "I mean no disrespect, you must believe that I don't want your father's wealth. But now..."
He suddenly found himself at a loss for words.
Because he didn't want to tell Melody Foster about her current situation.
He was afraid that it would scare her.
"I know," Melody Foster nodded slightly, "it's Jane Foster and Arthur Baker who won't let me go."
