"What a pity," Victoria said, holding Hank Clegg, lightly leaning in.
"A pity about what?" Hank Clegg was slightly puzzled.
Victoria sighed and pointed at her belly: "This little one here is so delicate and troublesome, sigh..."
She fell silent.
But Hank Clegg understood in a second.
According to Mason Ross, Hank Clegg and Victoria Talkington would have to be spiritual companions for quite a long time. Until the baby was healthily born, he couldn't touch her.
Because the baby inside Victoria was just too fragile.
Its very existence was against common sense.
"You must be prepared," Mason Ross told Victoria and Hank Clegg, "The baby might be born with innate deficiencies, various congenital diseases, and you must have the worst-case scenario in mind... and that's assuming the baby is ultimately born normally."
