"That will never happen." Shawn Clegg cradled Daisy Wright's face, staring deeply into her eyes, "If there's no safe haven in this world, then..."
He did not continue.
The most resolute words could only represent his thoughts, not Daisy's.
But as soon as he stopped speaking, Daisy suddenly reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.
She took the initiative and kissed him.
An undeniable fact that Shawn Clegg had been trying his best to ignore was that Daisy was actually wrapped in a blanket, not wearing any clothes underneath.
He deliberately kept a slight distance from her, resisting the temptation that was within arm's reach with all his might.
Yet she still threw herself at him.
She did so with all her love and despair, and a resolution to perish together if need be.
Her body was soft and warm, with a temperature that could melt him.
"I'd rather die." She said to him, "If I can't be with you, I'd rather die."
